Currently the smallest airframe in our fleet, the Bug is compact, lightweight and visually discrete.
The Bug can be deployed for missions of up to 20 minutes, with a removable battery that can be swapped in seconds. The systems come with sufficient batteries for up to 120 minutes of operational time.
Launching swiftly from an operator’s hand or a moving vehicle, the Bug 4.2 delivers intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) capabilities. The Bug has best in class thermal picture quality with ability to stream useful data and spot thermal targets with ease and identify them.
The Bug is capable of reaching speeds of up to 80kph (22m/s), with a transmission distance of 3km from its handheld controller (5.8Ghz). This gives is a wind capability beyond that of much larger systems.
The unique ability of the UAVTEK system means footage can be seen on multiple devices out of the box. With a small amount of integration, it can also be broadcasted securely to multiple locations, allowing users to view the live feed from anywhere in the world. Additionally remote control can be handed off to any location in the world (where county drone regulations permit).
The Bug offers fully autonomous GPS assisted flight, with all the standard functions you would expect including intelligent return-to-launch mode, waypoints, advance mission planning and on the fly dynamic changes to the mission.
This version of our Bug model features a removable GPS, this allows for upgrades in the GPS unit. The bug also performs dead reckoning in GPS denied mode and is still fully capable of Return to Launch (RTL). All UAVTEK products use our unique secure single AES 256 encrypted wireless link to provide video and telemetry.
